Workshop 3 – VT Beef Producers’ Summer Social: Capitalizing on the Power of the Vermont Brand

Cost: Free; discounted renewal on VBPA membership for attendees. Includes lunch featuring Mountain Meadows' organic beef and plenty of sides.
In the third part of a continuing series on improving VT's meat production opportunities, we will visit Mountain Meadows Farm in Orwell/Sudbury at the Vermont Beef Producers Association annual Summer Social. Amiel Cooper and Brian Kemp of Mountain Meadows, will lead a farm tour, talk about their animal, feed, and cropping systems along with sharing their experiences with GAP and Organic certification and selling primarily into a regional wholesale market.
In the afternoon there will be discussion on how producers and processors might work together to take advantage of the Vermont brand through coordinated industry standards or other marketing opportunities to meet and grow consumer demand.
Steamship round of beef, burgers and all accompaniments provided by Mountain Meadows Farm. The event is free with preregistration and reduced VBPA annual membership is available for attendees.
